Summer skincare routine

Summer is finally here which means that sweaty faces and oily skin is back. When I was younger, I always had a shiny face and my skin broke out as soon as it started to get a bit warmer. Little did I know that the right skincare can really help. I have found the best skin care routine that isn’t too heavy and leaves me with a glowy hydrated skin that is not greasy at all.

Midnight recovery cleansing oil: I use this one every evening and I warn you that the moment you start using it you won’t go back to any other makeup remover. A lot of people know the midnight recovery oil from Kiehl’s and I use it for a few years now. But this oil is just AH-MAZING. I got a little sample to test it and immediately went back to buy the big one. It smells just like the concentrate (which I love) and removes your makeup really well. It feels like you are getting that really nice facial.

Kiehl’s Calendula Herbal-Extract Toner: I use this one in the mornings after washing my face with some fresh water. I always have the feeling that my skin is so clean after using it. It doesn’t contain any alcohol so it is very gentle on your skin.

Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish cleanser: I discovered this cleanser only a few months ago as it isn’t sold in Switzerland. I had already heard so much good stuff about it that I decided to give it a try and the love story began immediately.  I just love to massage it into my skin and wipe it off with the muslin cloths.

Kiehl’s Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum: This serum is a life changer! It is the best feeling ever on the skin. It feels a bit like solid water (yes it sounds weird). Just try it for yourself and thank me later, this is probably my favorite thing in this routine.  I use this in the morning and in the evening before adding a moisturiser. On really hot days I use it on it’s own as it is hydrating enough for the whole day. I have been using it for a few years now and will always come back for it.

Clinique moisture surge: Again, if you’re looking for something really moisturising that leaves your skin fresh and not oily, this one is for you. I apply it in the evenings and a little bit goes a long way. It is really refreshing and provides hydration to make your skin look really healthy and fresh the next morning.

Dr. Jart+ Ceramidin Cream: I don’t know where to start. I LOVE this stuff! Even if it can seem a bit rich and heavy for hot summer days, it is still amazing. It contains Ceramide which provides time-release moisture. Again, if I know that it will be an especially hot day, i will just use the Kiehl’s serum.
