Kiehl’s 101

- WHAT YOU NEED AND WHAT YOU DON'T -

As you probably already know, I am a huge Kiehl’s fan. This is the brand that really changed my skin which explains why I am always reaching back to their products. For the last few years, I have gone back and back again to the shop and bought all their new – and older – products, so often that when I enter the shop – where I am already greeted by my name and always have a chat with the lovely people working there – I recognise most of the products. Having tried 90% of the range (probably everything except the men products), I can now safely say which ones I would buy again and which ones aren’t worth spending your money on. Like with every other brand, there is some serious good stuff and things that you could get better from another brand. There are some products I always reach back to and would recommend to everyone but this is solely based on my own experience.

* Grab yourself a cup of coffee because this is going to be a long one*

Moisturisers

Ultra Facial Cream  Really basic face moisturiser but amazing. If you suffer from dry and sensitive skin this is the one for you. Just a multitasker suitable for pretty much everyone.

Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel-Cream – Exactly the same as above just oil-free. So perfect for those suffering from oily skin. I absolutely love this one in Summer when it gets super hot and the only thing you need is a light and fresh gel moisturiser.

Ultra Facial Oil-Free Lotion – Again the same as above but a different texture. It was the first product I bought from Kiehl’s as I had really oily skin and it helped a lot. Really lightweight and refreshing.

Clearly Corrective Brightening & Smoothing Moisture Treatment – This was initially to help with my acne scars on my cheeks but to be honest I didn’t really notice a difference even in the long term.

Midnight Recovery Oil – A classic and you can never go wrong with this one.

Daily Reviving Concentrate – I know that a lot of people love this product but it wasn’t for me. I just didn’t like the feeling of it on my skin. Applying an oil in the morning didn’t feel right.

Ultra Light Daily UV Defense – It feels too much like a typical sunscreen. Too thick to apply daily. I just prefer a lightweight SPF that you can wear under your makeup without feeling like too much – like the glossier SPF.

Cleanser, Scrub & Toner

Clearly Corrective Brightening & Exfoliating Daily Cleanser – This one is amazing. If you like chemical exfoliators, this is the one. I used it 1-2 times a week in the shower and my face felt and looked amazing afterwards. Super soft and bright.

Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil – This comes by no surprise, probably my favourite Kiehl’s product ever. Just try it out.

Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash – Used it for years and it has really helped with my oily skin. But since then I have found other cleanser that I just prefer and would rather reach back to – hello Glossier and Oskia.

Calendula Herbal Extract Alcohol-Free Toner – I have never seen a difference when using this toner and really realise it now that I use the REN one. It hasn’t changed anything in the appearance of my skin.

Masks

Ginger Leaf & Hibiscus Firming Mask – A night mask? Weird but amazing. Put this on in the evening and wake up with radiant skin – especially combined with the green one – that’s all I have to say.

Instant Renewal Concentrate Mask – I am not a huge fan of sheet masks as they are always too big for my mini face so this hasn’t convinced me. Also didn’t see a big difference after putting it on.

Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Energising Radiance Mask – Amazing! After a rough night out or a long stressful week, this is the one you need. Get ready for glowy and bright skin.

Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Mask – Okay but not mindblowing, that’s it. I have used other cleansing masks that I just like that tiny bit more. I find the BodyShop Charcoal Mask and Origin’s Honey Charcoal Mask just do a better job.

Cilantro & Orange Extract Pollutant Defending Mask – On its own – meh! Combined with the night mask – wow! When I used it the first time I wasn’t convinced at all. I was just scared to go outside as you have to put on SPF and avoid the sun when using it. Probably not for me.

Serums & Eyes

Clearly Corrective Dark Spot Solution – I used this one up but to be honest it didn’t work for me. I didn’t see any difference whilst using it. It was supposed to help with scars left from spots on my cheeks but unfortunately didn’t.

Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Contentrate – Just wow. A moisturizing serum I always reach back to. Just feels amazing on the skin and really gives that extra bit of moisture your skin needs.

Creamy Eye Treatment With Avocado – Again, a classic you can’t go wrong with. Super thick and moisturising but light for that thin sensitive under-eye skin.

Clearly Corrective Dark Circle Perfector SPF30 – Not convinced. It works well as a lightweight concealer but would I buy it again? No.

Youth Dose Eye Treatment – Yes, yes, yes! Eye cream with a blurring effect, give it to me!

Lips & Hands

Buttermask For Lips – I was really looking forward to this lip mask but have been disappointed by the results. It just doesn’t work for my brittle lips.

Lip Balm #1 – This one is pretty good, I got it as a present when I brought back all my empties – another thing I love about the brand. I wouldn’t buy it for myself as it hasn’t worked that well and I am not a huge fan of the feeling and taste of it. As well as the application which I don’t like.

Ultimate Strength Hand Salve – This has been my go-to hand cream for the last couple of years and has helped *a lot* for my dry hands. It was the first one that really worked and would always recommend it.

Body & Other

Crème De Corps Whipped – I never bought it but always got small ones as testers. Whilst I love the smell and consistency, I don’t think that it is worth the money.

Superbly Restorative Argan Body Lotion – Again, good product but in my opinion not worth the money. I wasn’t a huge fan of the smell. It did its job but not more than any other cheaper moisturiser from anywhere else.

Cactus Flower Mist – This one is good for traveling. You know when you find yourself with a dehydrated face on the plane, spritz a bit of this one on and it is moisturised again. I haven’t tried any other mists so I can’t really say if it is worth it or not.

Breakout Control Targeted Blemish Spot Treatment – This one hasn’t helped. I thought that I would give it a go as an alternative to my Aesop one but the latter definitely wins.

Micro-Blur Skin Perfector – Again, it is a good buy but not good enough to buy it again. I am glad that I have tried it but wouldn’t specially recommend it to others. In my opinion there are better things on the market.
